Our Methodology
At Socratic, we offer public speaking and debate classes designed to help students succeed, no matter what they choose to pursue in the future. Our classes are grouped by skill level and age, and are tailored for students in grades 5-10. Most importantly, our program is income-agnostic: We believe every student deserves the opportunity to excel, regardless of their financial background. That’s why we offer free waivers to low-income students who aspire to develop their debate skills with our services.
Since our launch, we’ve raised $73,750, and every dollar has gone directly to supporting our four debate teams. These teams, consisting of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, have been fully funded, taught, and coached by Socratic instructors. Thanks to our program, these students have had the chance to compete nationally on multiple occasions, achieving remarkable success despite financial barriers.

Our staff consists of some of the countries highest ranked High School and Collegiate speech and debate competitors. Many of them now attend some of the top colleges in the nation.
A MORE EFFECTIVE TEACHING METHOD
Unlike the other camps, our mission is bringing value to you first. At SSA, we offer one of the lowest teacher to student ratio (1:4) out of any of the other debate classes or camps. We truly believe in the value of interpersonal connections with our staff and your child. Furthermore, our trauma-informed, culturally relevant pedagogy supports students regardless of their backgrounds, which helps to break down systemic, long-standing barriers, allowing us to democratize speech and debate.
CLARITY TO YOU
At SSA, we know how valuable a young child's time can be. You will always know your child's progression, as our administrative staff offers 1 on 1 sessions with SSA parents at any time they find convenient. A distinctive aspect of SSA is that we strive to keep parents out of the dark when it concerns their child's growth.
